QuTech is a mission-driven research institute, run by Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) and the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO). Together, we work on a radically new technology with world-changing potential, developing scalable prototypes of a quantum computer and an intrinsically safe quantum internet.

What will you do

We are looking for a Community Manager to further build up and strengthen the relationships within the community, and develop and execute communication strategies. You will regularly dive into the community and engage with all the parties involved to keep up to date. In collaboration with the Quantum Delft residents, you will be responsible for organising interesting activities for the entire Delft ecosystem.

Another aspect of the work is to keep the Quantum Delft website and various social media up to date. Quantum Delft is one of the hubs in the national quantum ecosystem, Quantum Delta NL (www.quantumdelta.nl), which requires you to work together with the Quantum Delta NL Community Manager and align on the communication efforts with the other hubs in Amsterdam, Leiden, Eindhoven and Twente.

Since you will know the target groups and how best to communicate with them, you will have a valuable position for advising the rest of the Quantum Delft team. Creativity and input of ideas is appreciated.

What do you have to offer

• Fascination and/or experience around quantum physics and enabling technology
• An ability to work both independently and within a small team; simultaneously managing multiple projects
• Previous experience in community building (online & offline), developing communication plans and tools, and knowledge of CMS, social media marketing & analytics
• Having an eye for design and knowing how to work with digital design tools
• A feeling for the environment where you work, and the various interest that play a role there
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar position

Conditions of employment

The Community Manager position is for a maximum of 24 working hours per week (0.6 FTE). The appointment is for one year with the option to become structural. The full-time salary is based on VSNU-CAO Scale 10 (salary 2.790 – max 4.402 gross per month on a fulltime basis). The actual salary will be based on your knowledge and relevant work-experience. Full-time means 38 working hours per week.TU Delft / QuTech offers a customizable compensation package, an attractive pension scheme, holiday allowance, a generous amount of holidays, a 13th month pay, a discount for health insurance and sport memberships, and a monthly work costs contribution. Flexible work schedules can be arranged. An International Children’s Centre offers our employees child care and an international primary school. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities (VSNU-CAO). Dutch citizenship or a European working permit is required to apply.

Quantum Delft

Quantum Delft provides businesses with access to top student talent; a pool of 200+ researchers; a strong start-up community; and top-notch research facilities such as cleanrooms. The goal of our initiative is to support the growing number of companies who are spinning out of QuTech or engaging from elsewhere to establish a lab or office in Delft. Quantum Delft started in 2019 and combines the efforts of many players.
